The church at Laodicea shows how dangerous it is to drift from depending on Christ. They believed they were rich, secure, and in need of nothing, yet Jesus saw their true condition and lovingly called them to repent. Comfort, success, and self-sufficiency can slowly pull a church away from its mission, but Christ continues to pursue His people with grace. When Jesus remains supreme and sufficient at the center, His church has everything it needs.
